The Memphis 3

The Memphis 3 is a Trio dedicated to playing the music made popular in Memphis, TN from Sun Studio to Stax with a mix of Rockabilly, Early Rock, R&B, Traditional Country and Blues. 

 

Their show is focused on giving you the background of the songs that were recorded in Memphis.  If you have ever wondered why Elvis recorded That's All Right, Mama, Carl Perkin's wrote Blue Suede Shoes or how Roy Orbison ended up in Memphis then come check out The Memphis 3.  
 

The trio performs with great vitality and is fronted by the charismatic Brandon Cunning on lead vocals and rhythm guitar.  Brandon is an energetic showmen whose acrobatic stage moves and musical skills reflect the influence of Elvis Presley, Carl Pekins, Buddy Holly and Brian Setzer.

 

Steve Newman on lead guitar and Mike Adams on Stand up bass round out the trio.

The band was formed in October 2012 and play every Sunday and Monday night on historic Beale Street at Blues City Cafe.
